Dr. Kate Shattenkirk earned a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Nutrition from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York and earned her medical degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, New York. She was Board Certified in Family Medicine and has practiced in rural areas of New York and North Carolina for 22 years.

In 2000, she incorporated Cosmetic Laser Treatments into her Family Practice. Over the past 13 years, she has mastered the use of 6 Premier Candela Lasers, Spectra Lutronic, Yolo Lapex 2000, Smoothshape lasers, Coolsculpting by Zeltiq and VIORA'S Reaction device. Her credentials also include certifications in the use of Botox, Juvederm, and SkinPen microtherapy. She has extensive experience combining traditional Family Practice with Cosmetic Laser Surgery.

Dr. Shattenkirk is one of 7 Family Physicians designated nationally and internationally by the Candela Corporation to teach and certify physicians and other healthcare professionals on the use and benefits of laser therapy. Dr. Shattenkirk was recognized statewide for her expertise and developed a series of educational workshops and lectures for the North Carolina Academy of Family Physicians.  She has lectured extensively throughout Asia and Europe.  Through these workshops and lectures, she facilitates the learning of both physicians and health care professionals.

Dr. Shattenkirk is a longstanding Fellow of The American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery. She joined the staff at the Southern Pines Aesthetics and Laser Institute as Medical Director in 2009. 




Brianna Vincent joined Southern Pines Aesthetics & Laser Institute in April 2017.

Brianna is a board certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) who will provide holistic and total-body aesthetic rejuvenation along with the other members of our team. She is a graduate of Western University of Health  Sciences in Pomona, California with a Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies, and earned her Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Physiology and Applied Human Biology from Seattle Pacific University with a minor degree in Chemistry. Her clinical experience and training outside of Dermatology/Aesthetic Medicine includes Urgent Care, Family Practice, and Pain Management.

Throughout her medical education, Brianna has maintained a strong interest in dermatological science. While working in Southern California and now North Carolina, she received extensive training, certification and experience providing cosmetic services such as Botox, dermal fillers (Restylane, Juvedern, Volluma Radiesse, etc.), laser hair removal, various laser treatments including tattoo removal, Rosacea, spider veins, sun damage as well as radiofrequency resurfacing procedures for skin rejuvenation.

Briann and her husband recently moved from California to Pinehurst where she has proudly chosen to focus all of her professional endeavors in the field of Aesthetic Medicine, taking great joy in helping people feel better about their appearance and, in turn, feel better about themselves as a whole. Outside the office, Brianna actively enjoys hiking, horseback riding, yoga, photography and traveling/spending time with family. She is currently a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Society for Dermatological Physician Assistants and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.



Debby Carter joined Southern Pines Aesthetics & Laser Institute in June, 2011.

She is certified in administering Botox and Juvederm, as well as performing CoolSculpting by Zeltiq, Viora's Reaction device and laser procedures including photorejuvenation and hair removal.

As a Registered Nurse, Debby values the relationship between herself and her clients and prides herself on the time and care she gives to each client. With a strong interest in proper nutrition and diet, Debby enjoys working with our medically supervised patients.




Tania Colon is a licensed esthetician who has been a provider at Southern Pines Aesthetics & Laser Institute since June.  She received her degree in applied science through Central Carolina Community College.  Tania has two daughters and loves spending time with them away from the office.  She is also an avid sports fan and enjoys watching her daughter play softball.  Prior to becoming an esthetician, Tania was a surgical technician and later a veterinary technician. 

Tania is certified in microdermabrasion, advanced exfoliation/chemical peels, microcurrent, oxygen therapy and Lashlift.


Her services include all types of facials (Hydrafacials, acne (deep pore) facials, back facials), waxing, brow grooming/tinting, chemical peels and lash perming/tinting.  She is very passionate about skin care, and can customize treatments and products to each individual patient’s skin type and condition.  Tania’s goal is to provide each patient with relaxing treatments while ensuring the best possible outcome.

Tania will be accepting appointments for Coolsculpting & microneedling appointments starting in September. 


Lynn Nall joined Southern Pines Aesthetics & Laser Institute in April, 2009.

She began her career as a RN specializing in women's health in 1988. In April, 2009 she became certified in combined use of Botox and dermal fillers. Since that time, she has been performing the majority of Southern Pines Aesthetics & Laser Institute's injectable treatments. In May, 2013 she became certified in Advanced Techniques of Botox and dermal fillers.

Her artistic abilities combined with her passion for education in aesthetic procedures provides her patients with superior outcomes.
